This is a report of the pathological findings from ten cats and dogs that died or were euthanized while infected with SARS-CoV-2in the US between March 2020 and January 2021. It was concluded that SARS-CoV-2 was an incidental finding in eight animals, was suspected to have contributed to the severity of clinical signs leading to euthanasia in one dog and was the primary reason for death for one cat. The paper presents an algorithm that could be used to determine the contribution of SARS-CoV-2 in the death of dogs and cats.
