The responsible use of antiparasitic medications requires an understanding of the parasitic diseases that need to be prevented, controlled or treated. Animals which have been imported or travelled abroad may be exposed to diseases which are not endemic in the UK, and climate change may affect the spread of vectors and therefore the potential for parasitic disease to spread.
